My name is Dominique and my life passion is health and wellness. Health and wellness is a lifestyle for me. It is the determinant of my daily choices, my top priority, and the essence of who I am. Throughout my journey I have studied many topics and tried many different lifestyle choices. Along the way I was introduced to yoga. At first yoga was a casual activity for me which is great! After years of “keeping it casual” I decided to dig deeper. Now I am a 200 hour registered yoga teacher that teaches 2-3 classes per week. These classes include vinyasa flow, power yoga, yoga sculpt, athletic recovery, yin yoga, meditation, and thyroid wellness yoga.
Thyroid wellness yoga is a new concept that I am trying to introduce. It’s a concept that I define as active lifestyle choices using integrative medicine through yogic principles to achieve sustainable wellness. Sustainable wellness looks different for everyone. We are all on different journeys and we all need our own recipe to find sustainable wellness. My goal is to help others achieve that as I did for myself.
About 8 years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism. Little did I know how this diagnosis would completely change my life. Throughout the past 8 years I have made countless lifestyle changes. Many of those changes include: adopting a well rounded yoga practice, focusing on mental health/reducing stress, and adopting new dietary habits.
In this blog I will discuss my lifestyle to help others to be well. I plan to bring a support system, lifestyle tips, recipes, yoga offerings and more. Stay tuned!
